Custom Coldroom & Processing Room — Central Queensland Cattle Property

The Brief A Central Queensland cattle producer approached VJT Industries to design and build a coldroom and processing room inside a new shed on their property. The client also had a sustainability goal in mind: they wanted the rooms constructed from recycled panels salvaged from an old, dismantled coldroom.

Our Approach Working to the client's specifications, our team prepared and re-purposed the recycled panels, designed the coldroom and processing room to suit the client's day-to-day operations, and engineered and sized the refrigeration units to match the rooms' capacity and processing requirements.

Working to a Tight Build Sequence This wasn't a job we could fit in around the rest of the build. The coldroom and processing room had to be fully constructed before the new shed walls were erected — giving us a fixed window to deliver. Our team coordinated closely with the builders, worked efficiently to programme, and handed over on time.

Building Local Skills The project also gave one of our school-based apprentices valuable hands-on experience installing and commissioning the refrigeration system — exactly the kind of real-world job that builds confidence and capability in the next generation of regional trades.
